Plant Paddle Workshop: Learn How to Identify Aquatic Invasives
Help Protect Maine Lakes: Join an On-Water Invasive Plant Patrol Workshop in Gouldsboro
Do you enjoy spending time on the water and want to help protect the health of Maine’s lakes? Join us for a free, outdoor Aquatic Invasive Plant Patrol (IPP) Workshop in Gouldsboro! This hands-on, on-water class is a great opportunity to learn how to spot suspicious aquatic plants and take action to protect our precious freshwater resources.
Led by experts from Lake Stewards of Maine (LSM), the workshop covers basic botany, aquatic plant identification, and how to use LSM’s Quick Key to determine whether a plant may be invasive. Participants will learn about the invasive species threatening Maine’s waters and how to properly monitor, document, and report findings as certified volunteers.
This course is required for those seeking Tier 1 IPP Certification through LSM, but it's open to anyone interested in lake conservation. Attendees bring their own canoe or kayak. Don’t have one? Contact lakestewardsofmain.org for arrangements.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
