Invasive Plant Educational Workshop Coming to Castine

Invasive Plants Data Tools - MNAP, EDRR, and iMapInvasives
Hancock County Soil & Water Conservation District is partnering with the Maine Natural Areas Program, UMaine Cooperative Extension and Native Gardens of Blue Hill to cohost the 2026 Invasive Plant Educational Workshop on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Emerson Hall in Castine.

This annual series trains home gardeners and industry professionals to identify invasive plants and manage them across forest, farm, and garden systems. The morning session is indoors, and the afternoon moves into the field for hands-on identification (rain or shine, so dress for the weather).
The details:
When: Tuesday, May 26, 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (registration opens at 9:30 a.m.)
Where: Emerson Hall, 67 Court Street, Castine, Maine 04421 (park on street)
Cost: $0–20 sliding scale (helps cover books, snacks, and event space)
Participation limit: 30
Included: A copy of the Maine Invasive Plant Field Guide (a $25 value)
Light snacks provided: Bring your own lunch.
Credits: CCA, Maine Board of Pesticide, and SAF credits are anticipated.
